Mark has always worked with wood. 25 years and counting. Having began his career working for one of the UK’s largest timber merchants, with positions including purchasing and sales, he spent his final ten years as their UK fooring manager, working closely with interior designers and architects as well as helping to set up their retail division. Having worked on numerous high profile projects, including The Shard and Strata SE1, Mark understands the demands of meeting deadlines. An affinity for divergent products gave Mark the incentive to go it alone and form a company where innovative and unusual wood flooring products, could be collected or created, and presented alongside existing, beautiful traditional wood floors, in an untypical fashion. He took this ambition to Andrew and invited him to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience in the related field of tiles to the business. This lead to the establishment of Eden Clay.

A self proclaimed tile nerd, he has spent more than 15 years working with tiles. Beginning in the industry as a warehouse manager, Andrew soon took on the role of retail manager for an established tiling contractor, who’s previous projects included St Paul’s Cathedral and McDonald’s. Responsible for managing every aspect of his clients projects, Andrew has worked closely with many associated trades, often arranging these works on his customers behalf. It was a year spent travelling around the world that confirmed Andrews appetite for an adventure, and the birth of the first of his two lovely children that focused his desire to work for himself. It was therefore no surprise that when presented with the opportunity to co-create his own company, he embraced the prospect. With his links to exclusive manufacturers, the products Andrew has introduced to Eden Clay have further enhanced their unique approach to sourcing, creating and displaying, both tiles and wood flooring.

Responsible for organizing and running the accounts and making sure all the numbers add up, which is no easy task when Mark and Andrew constantly dip in to the petty cash to purchase the odd sausage roll. After taking time away to raise her young family, Vicki joined Eden Clay at the end of their first year, bringing experience in office management and accounts, as well as a permanent smile, to the company.

Our first employee, Ian has been with us from the start. Having worked with Andrew for over ten years, on numerous high profile projects, the decision to persuade Ian to join Eden Clay was an easy one. Vastly experienced as a tiler, as well as being a qualified wood floor fitter, he is patient and dedicated, with a great eye for detail. He is among the best at what he does.

Phil has an extensive trade background that includes managing a trade counter. Nothing is too much trouble for Phil, even if it makes him late home. Neat and tidy to the extent of almost being obsessive, he takes pride from a job well done and a satisfied customer. Phil is currently training as a wood floor fitter.

The Methuselah of the wood foor fitting world. Thats not to imply he’s old, just has bucket loads of experience, including a background in carpentry. To list the projects he’s been involved with would read like a who’s who of Britain’s top restaurants, retail outlets and celebrities. Having fitted wood flooring all his working life, ¬†previously for the largest flooring company in the UK, Steve has become one of the best installers in the business.

Runs and manage’s most of our contract projects. With previous works that include McDonalds, St Pauls Cathedral and David Lloyd Leisure, he demands a quality installation from all of his team, and never leaves a job without being happy with it himself.

Part of our contract team, Mark is both accurate and fast. Ideally suited to contract work, but equally at home on a domestic project. Mark has also worked on the David Lloyd Leisure and St Mary’s Church projects.

Can be found working dusk till dawn making sure our contract work is completed to schedule. Has worked on numerous projects including David Lloyd Leisure Chigwell and St Mary’s On The Key Ipswich. An integral part of our contract team.

With a tiler for a father, Steve was born in to the trade. A true grafter with a skill set to match, he could tile with his eyes shut, but we’ve told him to stop doing that due to health and safety concerns. Makes light work of all projects we point his way.

Father to Steve B, he taught him everything there is to know, including tiling. Smart enough to have his son do most of the heavy work, committed enough to get his hands dirty when necessary.

Our contract teams muscle. Phil is responsible for ensuring all the products are where they need to be, our installers are never without fixing or finishing materials, and our sites are left impeccably clean.

Exceptionally experienced tiler, suited to both commercial and domestic tilling, Mark has been tilling for over 30 years. During this time he lead his own contracting team, before deciding to go back to being hands on.

Concierge and product tester. In between chasing balls around the showroom, to demonstrate our products durability of course, Hector will be found between 9am and 2pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays greeting our customers at the door with an enthusiastic bark and excited wagging tail.
